New Arrival
The Jaguar E-Type, also known as a Jaguar XKE for the North American market, is a British sports car that was produced from 1961 thru 1974. The E-Type was based on Jaguar's D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for three consecutive years beginning in 1955. When the E-Type was debuted in March of 1961, it was rumored that Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made". The E-Type employed a front subframe which carried the engine, front suspension and front bodywork bolted directly to the body tub, which was a novel design principle in the 1960's . Its combination of high performance, and stunning aesthetics, established the E-Type as an icon of the motoring world.
This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III was originally equipped with a 5.3L V12 engine producing an estimated 272 hp with a 9.0:1 Compression Ratio, and was mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The motor was removed, and completely rebuilt with custom forged pistons, and the compression ratio was increased to 10.0:1. A set of custom Weber Downdraft Carburetors, along with a custom set of stainless steel headers and full stainless steel exhaust, this V12 is now estimated to produce 350hp. The 4- speed transmission was replaced with a modern 5-speed Tremec T5, a lightweight steel flywheel, along with a centerforce dual friction clutch, help transmit the power to the rear wheels. The front suspension has been modified with stiffer front torsion bars, and a stiffer front sway bar, and Koni Front Shocks. The rear suspension has also been modified with the addition of a sway bar, and Koni shocks. To help control the power of this E-Type, the front brakes were also modified with 6-piston front calipers, and 315mm x 26mm Brake Rotors.
