2021 Mini Moke

What do you get when you cross a Jeep with a golf cart? You get a Mini Moke. This lightweight (LSV) Low Speed Vehicle is as fun as it looks, delivering an open-air, all-electric driving experience. It’s the Hawaiian shirt of cars.

The Mini MOKE was originally designed for military use, pitched to the British Army as a vehicle that was parachute-droppable. The Moke’s low ground clearance and lack of off-road capabilities doomed its chance at adoption by British or American armed forces. But for non-military uses, the MOKE was a perfect vehicle for civilian transport. Having appeared in four James Bond films, the vehicle comes with plenty of spy cred. 007 fans have fond memories of Bond zipping through the streets of a Caribbean Island in a MOKE.

American versions of the MOKE are all-electric and as silent and easy-to-drive as a golf cart. This street legal fun machine charges with any standard 110-volt outlet and will travel 40 miles on a single charge. This 4-seater can travel on any road with a speed limit of 35 mph or lower. And just like Bond, you must be licensed to drive.

A backup camera, front wheel drive, and an audio system with Bluetooth make the MOKE a legit vehicle, rather than just a toy for grown-ups. The absence of doors and windows, however, maximize the fun for everyone. MOKE owners often live in mild climates where breezy trips around town can be enjoyed year-round. It’s a perfect vehicle if you live in a Caribbean beach community. If you don’t, it will make you want to move to one.
