The 1964 Mercury Park Lane represents the first year of the model's second generation and an important moment in the evolution of Mercury's full-size luxury automobiles. Inside, the 25th Anniversary steering wheel bearing the “XXV” emblem is an especially distinctive detail. Features such as padded sun visors, two-tone paint, an outside remote-control rearview mirror, tinted windshield and glass, a push-button AM radio, and a padded instrument panel further distinguished the Park Lane. Part of the Park Lane's second generation, which ran from 1964 through 1968, the model was ultimately replaced when Mercury expanded the Marquis into a full model range for 1969.
