The 1961 BMW 700 Saloon has joined the collection and is awaiting its studio session. Full imagery will appear here once the shoot is complete.
The 700 is the small car that saved BMW. Launched at the 1959 Frankfurt Motor Show, where it drew around 25,000 orders, it gave the struggling company the conventional, sporting car it needed beyond the Isetta: BMW's first steel monocoque, rear-wheel drive, independent suspension and a rear-mounted, air-cooled flat-twin derived from its motorcycle engines. This white two-door saloon is an exceptionally original survivor, never restored, with its original panels, paint and trim after its first 30 years in Malta.
